thank you, pivot. your picture speaks a thousand words!. All I can say is that the square does not have anything to do with a cone. different shape, totally. if you have a better mathematical definition for the answer you can write it. I knew it was the square but I was at a loss for an exact mathematical definition of why. |

Basiically it is a multiple choice question. Thus no (mathematical) reasoning is required. So visualising some cone sections by drawing is the best way, IMHO. |
